General Terms and Conditions of Sale

1. Requirements to rent

• ›Minimum age: 21 years or older on the date the vehicle is collected. By way of exception, the Golf GTI Clubsport is available from the age of 20.
• ›Driving licence: A valid category B licence held for at least 3 years is required, outside the probationary period (the restricted period for newly qualified drivers in France). By way of exception, the Golf GTI Clubsport is available with a category B licence held for at least 2 years, with no probationary-period condition. In every case the renter's driving record must be clean (no at-fault claim within the last 3 years).
• ›Proof of identity: A valid, current proof of identity (French national identity card or passport) is required when the keys are handed over.

2. Caution (Security Deposit)

A credit or debit card pre-authorisation (imprint) is required when the vehicle is handed over. The amount of the caution varies by vehicle and is communicated to you before booking.

No amount is charged unless there is a claim or the vehicle is not returned in accordance with these terms.

3. Fuel

The vehicle is handed over with a full tank and must be returned at the same fuel level. Otherwise, the missing fuel is charged at €2.60 per litre, plus a €29 refuelling fee.

4. Mileage

Every rental includes 200 km per day, counted across the full rental period rather than day by day. Kilometres driven beyond that allowance are charged at €1.50 per kilometre when the vehicle is returned. Additional kilometres can be prepaid at booking at a reduced rate; the packs are shown during the booking flow.

5. Additional driver

An additional driver may be added to the contract for a supplement of €25 per rental period. The additional driver must meet the same requirements as the main renter (age, licence, driving record).

6. Delivery

Vehicle delivery is available from €15, applicable in the near Paris suburbs only. The exact rate is communicated when the booking is confirmed, based on the delivery address.

7. Insurance and assistance

All rentals include comprehensive (all-risks) insurance as well as 24/7 roadside assistance. The renter remains liable for the franchise (insurance excess) in the event of an at-fault claim.

8. Cancellation

Cancellation is free of charge up to 48 hours before the start of the rental: the deposit is refunded in full.

• More than 48h before: deposit refunded in full.
• Between 48h and 24h before: 50% of the deposit is withheld.
• Less than 24h before, or a no-show: the entire deposit is withheld as a fixed indemnity.

A duly justified case of force majeure (an event beyond either party's reasonable control) results in a full refund. Only the deposit is concerned: no additional amount is due in the event of cancellation.

9. Fixed fees and damage

The following fixed fees may be charged at the end of the rental. They are the same as those set out in the rental agreement signed at handover.

• ›Cigarette smell in the cabin : €300.00
• ›Exceptional interior cleaning : €150.00
• ›Loss or destruction of a key : €400.00
• ›Late return, per started hour : €50.00 / per started hour

The deposit is a guarantee, not a cap on compensation. Where the cost of repairs, of the vehicle being off the road and of related expenses exceeds the amount of the deposit, the renter remains liable for the balance, upon production of supporting documents, payable within fifteen days of their notification.

These general terms and conditions of sale are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the competent courts of Paris shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
