General Terms and Conditions of Sale

1. Requirements to rent

• ›Minimum age: 21 years or older on the date the vehicle is collected. By way of exception, the Golf GTI Clubsport is available from the age of 20.
• ›Driving licence: A valid category B licence (or equivalent) held for at least 3 years is required, outside the probationary period (the restricted period for newly qualified drivers in France). By way of exception, the Golf GTI Clubsport is available with a category B licence held for at least 2 years, with no probationary-period condition. In every case the renter's driving record must be clean (no at-fault claim within the last 3 years). Licences issued in the European Union, the European Economic Area, Switzerland or the United Kingdom are accepted as they are. A licence issued in any other country is accepted only together with an International Driving Permit or an official French translation. For a licence issued outside France, the probationary-period condition is met once the licence has been held for 3 years.
• ›Proof of identity: A valid, current proof of identity (national identity card or passport) is required when the keys are handed over. Renters living in France also provide a proof of address less than 3 months old; if you live outside France, your hotel or accommodation booking in France for the rental dates replaces it.

2. Caution (Security Deposit)

A credit or debit card pre-authorisation (imprint) is required when the vehicle is handed over. The amount of the caution varies by vehicle and is communicated to you before booking.

No amount is charged unless there is a claim or the vehicle is not returned in accordance with these terms.

3. Fuel

The vehicle is handed over with a full tank and must be returned at the same fuel level. Otherwise, the missing fuel is charged at €2.60 per litre, plus a €29 refuelling fee.

4. Mileage

Every rental includes 200 km per day, counted across the full rental period rather than day by day. Kilometres driven beyond that allowance are charged at €1.50 per kilometre when the vehicle is returned. Additional kilometres can be prepaid at booking at a reduced rate; the packs are shown during the booking flow.

5. Additional driver

An additional driver may be added to the contract for a supplement of €25 per rental period. The additional driver must meet the same requirements as the main renter (age, licence, driving record).

6. Delivery

Vehicle delivery is available from €15, applicable in the near Paris suburbs only. The exact rate is communicated when the booking is confirmed, based on the delivery address.

7. Insurance and assistance

All rentals include comprehensive (all-risks) insurance as well as 24/7 roadside assistance. The renter remains liable for the franchise (insurance excess) in the event of an at-fault claim.

8. Cancellation

Cancellation is free of charge up to 48 hours before the start of the rental: the deposit is refunded in full.

• More than 48h before: deposit refunded in full.
• Between 48h and 24h before: 50% of the deposit is withheld.
• Less than 24h before, or a no-show: the entire deposit is withheld as a fixed indemnity.

A duly justified case of force majeure (an event beyond either party's reasonable control) results in a full refund. Only the deposit is concerned: no additional amount is due in the event of cancellation.

9. Fixed fees and damage

The following fixed fees may be charged at the end of the rental. They are the same as those set out in the rental agreement signed at handover.

• ›Cigarette smell in the cabin : €300.00
• ›Exceptional interior cleaning : €150.00
• ›Loss or destruction of a key : €400.00
• ›Late return, per started hour : €50.00 / per started hour

The deposit is a guarantee, not a cap on compensation. Where the cost of repairs, of the vehicle being off the road and of related expenses exceeds the amount of the deposit, the renter remains liable for the balance, upon production of supporting documents, payable within fifteen days of their notification.

10. Referral programme

Every customer with a GT Location account has a referral code, active from the payment of their first booking. A referee who books with that code receives €50 off their first rental, deducted at payment and usable only on the site.

Once the referee's rental is over, the referrer earns a €50 reward, paid by bank transfer to the IBAN entered in their customer account. Rewards are paid in one grouped transfer per month, before the 10th, for all rewards earned the previous month. No reward is due until the referee's rental has actually taken place; cancellation of the referee's booking cancels the referral.

Referrals giving rise to a reward are limited to 3 per referrer over any rolling 12-month period, unless GT Location agrees otherwise in writing. The referee must be a new customer who has never rented from GT Location, with their own email address and phone number. A person can be referred only once.

GT Location reserves the right to refuse or cancel any reward in the event of fraud, multiple accounts, self-referral or any use contrary to the spirit of the programme, and to change or end the programme at any time, rewards already earned remaining due.

10a. Vehicles from partner rental companies

Some vehicles on the site may belong to partner rental companies and are flagged as such on their page and during booking. For these vehicles GT Location acts as an intermediary: it presents the vehicle, takes the booking, checks the customer file and passes it to the partner.

The 20% deposit paid on the site is collected by GT Location for its intermediation service and deducted from the total rental price. The rental contract is concluded between the customer and the partner named in the confirmation email. The balance and the security deposit are settled with the partner at handover, under the partner’s own terms, communicated before handover.

To perform the contract, the customer file (identity document, driving licence, proof of address) is passed to the partner once validated by GT Location. On cancellation the partner is informed and must destroy the documents received. The cancellation terms of article 8 apply to the deposit.

These general terms and conditions of sale are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the competent courts of Paris shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
